A few days from the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver, Fondation Émergence is launching its annual campaign to fight against homophobia. Entitled "Speaking About Silence", this campaign is geared toward the sports world and will reach its highpoint on May 17, 2010, on the International Day Against Homophobia. The campaign aims to speak about the sports world's reigning silence on everything related to sexual diversity, and to call on all those involved. The campaign is based on images of one winter sport and one summer sport: hockey and soccer. Posters and pamphlets are available for free and on request, plus electronic versions are available in several languages. The promotional material can be ordered from Fondation Émergence via its website at www.homophobiaday.org.

In response to multiple requests, Fondation Émergence has re-issued two posters that were a huge success and which were re-edited for the fight against homophobia campaigns from 2003 and from 2007. They are "Shocking? For who?", which shows two hockey players about to kiss each other, and "Sexual Orientation is Not a Choice", which features the photo of a baby wearing a bracelet that reads "Homosex…". These two posters are being offered once more and in English and in French.

For the International Day Against Homophobia, Fondation Émergence has publicly released results from a survey conducted in Québec by Léger Marketing on cultural communities' perceptions of homosexuality. The survey shows that second-generation immigrants have a much more favourable perception of homosexuality than do their parents.
